Hi everyone - Just moved to SLO from the Sierras and am used to taking my dog for hikes off-leash. Doesn't seem like there is much around SLO for off-leash walks/hikes. Any recommendations would be appreciated! Thanks! Emily and Stanley

We have a multitude of trails, Google "Trails SLO County CA". In the North County I like the Salinas Riverbed, "the De Anza Trail" its an easy walk, not a hike, but always a great adventure, water to romp in, and Vermin to chase! Don't forget your doggie bags.

I hike Mt Madonna and Bishop with my Goldens....off leash tons of fun. Each hike is about 4 miles, 1 to 1.5 hours and a GREAT work out for both you and the pups. Have fun. There is also a book out with, California Central Coast, Must do hikes for everyone by Brian Milen. It tells the location, distance, time, difficulty and dog or no dog trail.
