For the past 4 months I have been hiking Felsman's Loop with my dog off-leash... everyone seems to do the same, but I got a ticket this morning.

I am new to SLO and desparate to find an off-leash trail that is strenuous exercise for me and my high-energy dog. What does anyone know about???

Thanks,
Shelly

I dont know what Felsmans Loop is but I often hike to the top of Mt Madonna (that is what I call it) with my Goldens. I see lots of other dogs also, off leash. the hike is about one hour round trip (depending on your speed. Hope thish helps.

You're not alone. Three friends and I were cited in our local park - the cost is $211, but if you go to court, you can probably get the fine reduced (ours was set at $75 each) and you can work off the fine doing community service (which was fun, actually). We're hoping to get some off-leash hours at our local park, working with the Parks and Rec commission. I would also like to see the "dog park" at Laguna Lake cleaned up, with part of it fenced perhaps.
