Adopt-a-Pet Event runs every Saturday from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm (weather permitting) at Lemos Feed & Pet Supply in Arroyo Grande. All dogs are spayed/neutered. The San Luis Obispo County Red Cross Chapter is now offering 2 new Pet First Aid Courses that provide hands-on training that builds first aid skills and provides guidance in emergency situations until veterinary care is available. Toys and treats for all dog visitors. Our volunteers will be on hand to help explain dog park etiquette. This is a good time to make your annual pledge of $25 for park maintenance and pick up a membership dog tag. We also have a great raffle prize for the weekend including tickets to "The Mark of Zorro" at the PAC on Feb 20, a magnum of Domain Alfred Pinot Noir, gift certificate for hotel accommodations and dinner for two, and dog treats galore. Some of our favorite vendors will be on hand such as Pet Photographer Jeanne Harris, Good Dog Companion Dog Training with Kathy Kropp, and Jangodog gifts from Valerie Bluett among others. Join us the first Saturday of every month for a Great Dane Play Day at the Avila Beach Old Port San Luis! Join us at the designated off leash dog beach at 11 am and have tons of fun meeting other Danes and their owners!

Sat 3/28 1st Annual Paso Robles Dog Jog 9 am - 11 am
Kennedy Club Fitness and Parks-4-Pups are hosting a 4K run or 2K walk for dogs and their owners along the Salinas River Walk trail. Race starts and ends at the Paso Robles club located at 500 South River Road. Early bird race registration is $15 in advance until March 21st and $20 through race day. Paricipants receive goodie bags of dog treats, medals, and an event day bandana. Racers can sign up at the Paso Robles Kennedy Club facility or by calling 239-8488 X 33 or 239-4437. Registration forms and rules are available at www.parks4pups.org. Event proceeds will benefit the North County dog parks. Dogs must be on leash during this rain or shine event and only one dog per runner.

4/24 Camp Paws Registration Begins
Every summer, Animal Services sponsors Camp PAWS. Each 1 week camp offers kids from 8-12 years old the opportunity to work with a shelter dog and assist in its training, socialization, and grooming. This interaction helps children learn compassion, responsibility, and basic pet care while helping to make shelter dogs more adoptable. Join us for our 19th Annual community dog event at Santa Rosa park in SLO. There will be pet related vendors, canine good citizen testing, agility and rally obedience, 4-H showmanship and obedience, flyball instruction, and several other demonstrations throughout the day! You and your dog are invited to compete in the Second annual "Best of Bay" Pooch Pageant! This event will be held on Sunday, May 10th (Mothers Day) with competitions beginning at 3 pm for small dogs, 3:30 for medium dogs, 4 pm Large dogs and 4:45 will be the Award Ceremony! Come join us for the annual Mutt Strutt at Kennedy Club Fitness in Arroyo Grande.Kennedy will be hosting a two-mile dog walk and a community pet fair (a.k.a. the "Vendor Village"), live music, food, and prizes in their parking lot after the walk.
